About me and JS Colour Studio
Welcome! I’m Jayne, founder of JS Colour Studio.
Prior to becoming a colour analyst, I worked for over 20 years as an NHS Occupational Therapist, supporting people to build confidence, overcome challenges, and improve their wellbeing. That experience has shaped the way I work today, with empathy, a person-centred approach, and a genuine passion for helping others to feel like the best version of themselves.
Having always had an interest in fashion, makeup, and the impact of colour on wellbeing, becoming a colour analyst felt like the perfect next step in my career. I completed my training at The Style and Colour Academy in Worcestershire and am a fully qualified Colour Analyst.
At my home studio based in Derby, I provided colour analysis in a relaxed and welcoming environment, helping clients discover their perfect shades so they can create a wardrobe they love and feel good wearing.
As a busy mum, I understand that when you have a wardrobe that works for you and you feel confident in your style, that’s one less thing to think about which makes everyday life that little bit easier!
My aim is for you to leave your appointment feeling more confident, empowered, and inspired to embrace your unique style.
What is Colour Analysis?
Colour analysis is a personalised way of discovering the colours that naturally complement your skin tone, eye colour, and hair.
Using the Seasonal colour analysis method, I’ll identify your individual colour palette by examining the characteristics of your natural colouring and aligning these to one of the four seasons and subsequent subseasons, for example, Soft Summer, Bright Spring, Deep Autumn.
Your personalised palette takes the guesswork out of choosing clothes, accessories, and makeup, making shopping and getting dressed easier while helping you create a more cohesive wardrobe.
Most importantly, colour analysis can boost confidence, encourage you to embrace your natural features, and help you feel more comfortable and empowered in your personal style.
Your Colour Analysis Experience
During a colour analysis at JS Colour Studio, you will receive an in-depth consultation to identify and explore your best colours. Here is what to expect during your appointment.
- Welcome to your consultation – Your appointment will start with a short questionnaire so I can learn a bit more about you. I’ll introduce you to the colour wheel and the colour analysis process.
- Discover your season – Completed by draping you in a selection of high quality, precision dyed Kettlewell™ drapes.
- Makeup application and recommendations – I will show you how to create a 2-minute, effective makeup look using just 4 makeup items in your seasonal colours. It’s amazing what the right shade of lipstick can do to enhance your complexion and brighten your whole look!
All makeup is optional so if you prefer not to wear makeup or wish to avoid certain products, that is absolutely fine. Consultations are always person-centred and will be tailored to you and your preferences.
- Learn your best colours, neutrals and subseason – This is the really fun part! We will explore all the colours in your season with a wider selection of drapes. I will determine your subseason and identify your best “standout” colours. We will also discuss how you can begin to bring these colours into your everyday wardrobe and explore colour combinations when styling your outfits.
- Receive your personalised colour fan – You will receive a seasonal colour fan to take away with you. You are now ready to embrace your perfect palette!
Mini Analysis
Our 30 minute Mini analysis covers steps 1 and 2 and is a great introduction to understanding your seasonal palette.
Following this, if you would like to explore your seasonal palette in more depth, you will have the option to book an upgrade and take advantage of the full colour analysis experience.
